Prices have gone up quite a bit since White Wolf first published V:tM. The resources background hasn't been changed to keep pace. $5 million doesn't go as far as it used to.

In the following descriptions, 'liquidated' refers to how much money is freed up if one resource dot is eliminated. 'Allowance' is discretionary income, after normal modest expenses.

Resources 1:
Small savings. Studio or 1-bedroom rental. A car or motorcycle, often needs repair.
Liquidated: $5K
Allowance: $500

Resources 2:
Middle Class. Nice appartment, small condo, or small house. Decent transport, not new.
Liquidated: $25K
Allowance: $1500

Resources 3:
Large savings. Large condo, good-sized house, or modest house with acreage. Late-model car.
Liquidated: $150K
Allowance: $6K

Resources 4:
Well-off. Large house or modest estate. More than one very nice car.
Liquidated: $1.5M
Allowance: $20K

Resources 5:
Fantastically rich. Mansion in the best area of town. Pick a car, any car.
Liquidated: $15M
Allowance: $75K
